The Marine Current Power Plant is an energy generation building which can only be built underwater. The power plant is not very cheap in terms of the amount of energy it produces compared to cost, but is the only way of providing power to Underwater Plateaus in the base game, and for the majority of the Deep Ocean expansion pack (until the acquisition of Researchers, which allow for the construction of the Geothermic Power Plant and then Geniuses which make the Energy Transmitter available). Producing only 25 Power, the Marine Current Power Plant is nothing compared to the Geothermic Power Plant's 750 Power, but comes with no risk of causing a Tsunami.

There are no Research Projects for the Marine Current Power Plant, but there is an island wide upgrade that must be bought or found.
