Hello, I'm Flanqer, and I'm the Wiki Manager for the Anno 2070 Wiki. I introduced myself in the forums, but wanted to drop you a personal message since you're one of the active admins. I'm here to help you and your community, and to be a liaison to full-time Fandom Staff. If you ever have any questions related to the wiki, whether it's about editing, styling, infoboxes, policy, etc, please contact me on my message wall.
Hi. I just noticed these comments by Special:Contributions/188.8.131.52 that merely link to all sorts of shady websites. The comments are already pretty old, but I cannot delete them and I do not think these links should be hosted on this wikia. If you could delete/hide them, it would be a great service to visitors of this website. Thank you.
I'm SHIELDAgent154, and I'm currently the only main editor of the Anno 2205 Wikia. I would like some assistance in regards to the overall organization of the wikia. I'm trying to get adopt it, since its Founder isn't doing much, but there's still a lot of work to do.
I suppose I'm rather late with my interest in Anno 2070 with the new Anno coming up and all, but I noticed that the pages discussing the Units are in different layout styles (Ships, Aircraft and Submarines). Do you think we should look into it? Also I've added a few new pages discussing vehicles that are obtainable (but obviously aren't ment to be obtainable.
Thanks for notifying me! I had already heard the great news.
I also saw a new wiki, anno2205.wikia.com, has just been created. I'd say, come join the fun over there! Judging from the home page, a lot of work will have to be done there :). I guess I'll start there as soon as I have time... tonight.
I know you guys are moving all the building and chain layouts over to their own individual building pages. I noticed Tech Layouts had been altered recently. Indexing was non-existent because Simple was just one huge table, as was Complex. I split it up and put headings. It looks fine but the TOC is playing up. No idea how to fix it. I'm sorry. Hopefully I've made migrating easier. I'll do the same to the other layout pages if you tell me you're happy with what I've done or tell me how to go about it differently.
I hope I've been more help than hinderance. I want to help in any way I can. Blunt feedback is better than no feedback.
First of all: what you did to the Tech Layouts is good. We indeed had the idea to "equip" the Building pages with their layouts, but the Tech Layouts page is a good overview of all S.A.A.T. production building layouts anyway, and those headers make it only easier to navigate, so that's great. What do you mean exactly by "the TOC is playing up"?
Then your character. I like his profile and his story suits our previous ideas very well. Only thing I want you to know is that, well, this giant expansion thingy is not really realistic. Or maybe I have to specify myself a bit: I personally think it's not realistic at the moment and probably not realistic anymore. I mean - we all have great stories in our heads and we all love thinking up new game elements and NPCs, but since no-one has / seems to have the capabilities and the time to create a real modification / expansion / DLC, we actually have no more than only those great stories, game elements and NPCs. It's already a long time ago since we started thinking up things and the last few months only a few more posts were added to the thread.
It's already more than two years ago since Anno 2070 came out and I'm afraid the game isn't that hot anymore. I have to confess I barely play it anymore, partly because no patches come out and no new Events are released anymore, so the game starts getting a bit boring (I think) and partly because I simply don't have the time at the moment. I'm very, very busy with school this year and I do way to much other things, so I'm glad if I've the time to check all changes on this wiki (which I still do almost every day). It's funny that the last one-two weeks the activity on this wiki has started to grow again, and I'm sincerely enjoying that, but I'm also afraid that Anno 2070 has had it's best time and I want you to know this. Your edits are really fantastic, but you won't get as much feedback as, let's say, a year ago, when Deep Ocean just came out.
Is this all right? If there's anything you want to know, or if there's anything I can help you with, just drop by and leave me a message. Don't hesistate editing: if you've made a mess, I can clean it with one click :). You're sure more help than hinderance!
Kind regards and happy editing!
(PS. You don't have to put your username behind the ~~~~ sign - the code automatically detects who you are.)
Thank you for replying. I realise that this little project/wiki is but a tiny portion of everyone's lives and most of the time, other things take precedance.
I saw trailers for 2070 as soon as they came out, so I've been wanting to buy it and join in the fun for a long time. Sadly, money has been tight for the past two years, what with moving into my current lodgings two years ago and not getting paid enough to get by properly until the end of the summer last year. I do know I've missed the boat with the main action but I have the vague hope that they will release another add-on this year, as Deep Ocean didn't seem to fill in enough holes. Many of the answers to the questions have been well speculated on here and NWO does seem to cover all those. What with Ebashi's mutterings, it looks like it was intended. Then there's the whole thing of Techs researching living completely in the ocean. I know the other Anno games only released one expansion pack but the obvious gap gives hope.
I'm relieved that my edits are worthwhile and my in-game avatar NPC is agreeable. I'll sort the other layout pages out too, in that case. TOC is table of contents. It was collapsed and wouldn't expand.
Didn't NeoVanAlemania do an extensive, complex expansion pack for Anno 2070? I have a feeling you and Kered14 know a fair amount about resource hacking too. Maybe one day. I must say, I'm better at testing and high-level editing than low-level code, sound mixing, graphics or animation/choreography. If you ever get enough people on board with enough expertise and time, I'll be all too happy to lend a hand in any way I can, including scriptwriting, level design and doing the voiceover for my character.
All right then. Yes, NeoVanAlemania created the A.R.R.C. 2170 modification, but no, I actually don't have any modding experience. Kered14 has a bit, but all modding-related comments from me are just base on logic.
What I furthermore have to say is that your campaign is fantastic. I think we really should consider merging all stories and again creating a large expansion idea when you've finished your storyline, but we'll discuss that later on.
